WEAVE - FINAL OUTCOME

This weave was my final piece for a textile unit. To create this weave I used a variety of materials and colours - inspired by textiles designer Terri Freidman. Alongside using string and wool I used dyed red calico and brown tissue paper. I also left gaps in this weave, this makes my weave look more interesting.
GARMENT - FINAL OUTCOME

PRINTING - FINAL OUTCOME
For this garment I used multiple techniques, lino printing, screen printing, heat press and fabric dying. I chose white cotton as my base as I wanted plain fabric to design onto, I also felt that white cotton would be easy to manipulate. I used white satin to create the silky looking belt, I then used the heat press to add colour to the belt.
DESIGNED FABRICS

I used reduction lino printing to create this piece. I started by carving an outline onto my piece of lino then gradually carving more out creating a lino printing with multiple colours. I chose to print this onto grey paper as when I had experimented on fabric the lino printing did not look as striking for a reduction lino.

I used white cotton for this piece, I dyed it pink and then went over the colour with lino printing. I overlapped the printing on top of one another, I think that this created a more interesting look, I incorporated a gold outline using the heat press.

I also used white cotton for this sample. I dyed the fabric the same pink colour. I cut out some shapes onto poly tile to print them on top of the dyed fabric. Then I placed my fabric onto dark blue dye and using a needle I pressed down and drew my deisgn onto the back of my fabric, so that when I lifted my fabric the paint would have printed onto it.
